OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!! Today she is just over 7lb! (",) how pleasing is that little piece of news? heheheee!!!
Well it has been nigh on a month since my last update - the issue being that a lie and a deception were in progress in that we were keeping things from our parentals... Now that they are in full and complete awareness of the situation we can shout it aloud from the treetops... well... we can blog again anyway...

ELIZABETH ROSE BYASS IS HOME!!!

How brilliant is that?!

It has been a funny couple of months with daily trips to the hospital and Becca pumping at all times of day and night (in order to feed the girl and give the excess - 25litres - to the Wirral milk bank!) and of course the various hoops that had to be jumped prior to coming home - rooming in (staying the night in hosp to get used to being with E around the clock), recussitation training, Oxygen training and installation at home, setting up all sorts of people to visit us (on a daily basis at first) and vaccines and so on and so forth... Elizabeth also taught her mum and dad how to bath and change and generally respond to her every whim and command which was nice of her!

So home is where we are as a little family once again! Various people have visited including the parents who were somewhat suprised to be greeted by the smallest member fo the family and very pleased to meet and greet her properly. So all in all it has been a busy few weeks and now she is home we can both update our blogs with bits and bobs of note and interest - such as her meeting her little friend Ben... Well I never... she's in clothes AND she's in a cot (NOT AN INCUBATOR - AN ACTUAL COT!) what a week it has been! she is sooo clever... eating more, weighing more and generally being even mor elovely than ever. Mind you at 5 weeks old she ought to be!!! (",)

Just to gve a sense of how little she is still even tho she's growing... an extra pic! (",) It shows my wife's finger holding in a dummy - dummy no bigger than a 50p!!!
I cannot belive we have been parents for nearly a month (well, over 4 weeks already). Time seems to have flown and Elizabeth has also been developing nicely into a 3lb 11oz little girl so she is doing really well despite a few (read: a LOT) of hiccups (real ones a plenty and a couple of "setbacks" too). Becca is producing a litre of milk a day and so there is really little wonder that she is growing so rapidly... met a doctor today - turns out we know her from church (!) - who said she is doing well and that they are pleased with her progress... I would like to emphasise that it is not due to the calories shown in the pic below but rather the goodness of the food she has from her mum and the care of the staff in the SCBU!!!

Me (Richard) and my wife (Becca)... (are GREAT, and) have a LITTLE little girl (Elizabeth Rose) who was born on Saturday 26th August 2006 at 2:54am weighing in at 2lb 2oz (1kg exactly!)... She is a beautiful girl and is doing really well and we are both so very proud of her... She is 12 weeks early but despite all that she is already breathing on her own and is off intensive care and into the next level down! Just 4 days old at the moment but... just beyond! Well that all for now... more another time! x
